Where the sixth card in the Major Arcana commonly represents the Lovers, that interpretation may or may not be useful to us as knitters. Let us broaden our scope and suggest not just one, but two types of union – that of Lovers, and that of Grafting.
While Grafting may lack inherent passion, it is inarguably a method by which we may create a seamless bond. The elements to be bonded are different enough to need one another, and yet, with Grafting, they will become as one – a new Whole.
Whether you look to your knitting or life around you, with the Lovers/Grafting card, you are acknowledging a force that holds things together – and, it is important to remember, a force from which it may be difficult to extricate oneself, once that ball is rolling.
