II. the high priestess

Ask ten knitters each to knit the same sweater, from the same pattern, and each finished sweater will be as identifiable as the knitters’ own fingerprints: that is the doctrine of the High Priestess. What is “concealed”, or not immediately accessible, is often what makes a project truly unique. That uniqueness will be apparent. The High Priestess represents potential, and the personal and internal development of a project.

Options are limitless. Knitting is not a “what you see is what you get” craft ; there is always more beneath the surface. Acknowledge the impulses that you may feel are merely throwaway -- the High Priestess knows that they are truly important. Also, give yourself time and space to work with these impulses. No one should ever rush through such significant mysteries! Allow things to unfold naturally for you and your project; there is no one whom you need to beat to the punch; your ideas are yours alone.
