VIII. untangling

Strength is demonstrated not with force, but with finesse. You cannot submit a tangled ball of yarn to mandatory and immediate correction; you can only allow it to yield, with your assistance, to its former state.

Strength, in the traditional Tarot, is like Untangling – it takes patience, time, and a gentle hand. With Strength, and Untangling, also comes the understanding that the end result, successful as it may be, will require a certain amount of forgiveness. Yes, we have Untangled, but we also have the Strength to admit that the object of our rescue may not have been returned to a pristine state.

Untangling accepts and forgives these imperfections. Untangling eschews frustration.

Not everybody can Untangle; those who can don’t do it on the clock. When receiving the Untangling card, set aside your deadlines and ultimatums, and try a little patience and perseverance.
